Human API | About & Capabilities

Human API: empathy in → clarity out.
API Version 2.0 — Compatible with vNext

Every system is human first. My work starts there—mapping the story behind the user—understanding incentives, emotions, and signals that move people, then translating them into products that move markets.

I’ve built across cultures, companies, and time zones—aligning teams that speak in different dialects of ambition. Whether I’m debugging a product strategy or a communication loop, the goal is the same: remove friction, create flow.

Over the years, this approach has shaped how I lead and design:

• Translate feedback into action, not noise.
• Design workflows that breathe, not burden.
• Build alignment across functions—human and technical.

My foundation in international relations taught me how systems and individuals interact. Product taught me how to redesign the system instead of just describing it.

From cabins, coffee shops, and an RV parked wherever the Wi-Fi cooperated, I learned the same lesson again and again: agility isn’t optional—it’s a minimum requirement for any product environment.

Capabilities

My skill set was built through a patchwork of experiences — from academic strategy to creative leadership — and refined over eight years in software product roles. Each chapter added perspective; together, they built the range I lead with today.

I build product strategies that balance short-term wins with sustainable growth — knowing when to test small, when to pivot, and when it’s time to rebuild. Strategy, to me, is the art of seeing patterns early and acting with purpose.

Core focus areas:

  • Roadmaps that align customer needs with business goals
  • Platform modernization and ecosystem enablement (API-first, extensibility, scalability)
  • Experimentation via QA, feature flags, and phased rollouts
  • Go-to-market feedback loops connecting data, marketing, and product decisions
  • Accessibility and compliance built into every release

Strategy is a conversation between the product, its users, and the teams behind it — and I like to keep that conversation honest.

I help engineers, designers, marketers, and executives solve the same problem — just from different angles. I lead through clarity and trust, giving teams the context they need and clearing the obstacles that slow them down.

How I lead:

  • Aligning teams around measurable outcomes
  • Building communication systems for remote collaboration
  • Creating feedback loops between Support, Product, and Engineering
  • Guiding decisions with empathy and data — not ego

Whether it’s a roadmap review or a crisis fix, my approach stays the same: clarity first, ego last, always forward.

I’ve worked across time zones for over a decade — long before remote work became a default. It started at a marketing agency in 2013, continued through a global graduate program, and has defined every role since.

Whether leading cross-functional teams at LearnDash or coordinating launches across continents, I’ve learned that remote leadership isn’t about availability — it’s about clarity, trust, and rhythm.

I design systems that keep context flowing when people aren’t online at the same time, so progress never depends on presence.

Global collaboration is more than logistics; it’s a mindset — one built on cultural awareness, adaptability, and respect for how differently people work around the world.

Focus areas:

  • Scaling leadership practices for distributed environments
  • Asynchronous communication and documentation systems
  • Coordinating global product, engineering, and QA teams
  • Building cross-cultural understanding and inclusion
  • Designing workflows that protect focus across time zones

I use analytics, user research, and AI-assisted models to understand behavior and guide iteration. Good data doesn’t replace intuition; it sharpens it.

Experience with:

  • Product analytics, cohort tracking, and conversion funnels
  • SQL querying for product metrics
  • GA4, Looker, and Data Studio dashboards
  • AI-assisted pattern recognition and forecasting

My goal is always the same: build feedback loops that make decisions faster, smarter, and easier to explain.

I translate between engineering, design, and marketing without letting meaning get lost in the middle. I’m not writing the code, but I understand what it’s doing — and how it connects to the bigger picture.

Technical strengths:

  • REST APIs and OpenAPI documentation
  • Deep understanding of WordPress and plugin architecture
  • Developer ecosystem and integration support
  • AI agents and automation workflows for QA, analysis, and release ops

Example: the LearnDash 5.0 and MCP projects highlight my work embedding AI enablement into a legacy platform.

I integrate AI where it actually helps: automating triage, streamlining handoffs, and surfacing insights that guide better decisions. I’ve led initiatives like LearnDash 5.0 and the MCP launch to embed multi-agent AI systems into large-scale WordPress products — always with human oversight at the core.

I focus on:

  • AI-assisted workflows that remove friction for teams
  • Agent collaboration frameworks that preserve human oversight
  • AI for decision support and operational efficiency
  • Responsible integration into existing systems and roles
  • Cross-platform data analysis for faster, clearer insight

I see AI not as a replacement for human work, but as an infrastructure layer that transforms how teams build and communicate.

Every product decision affects real people, so I make sure those choices are ethical, inclusive, and legally sound. Accessibility and compliance aren’t checkboxes — they’re signs of respect for the people using what we build.

Focus areas:

  • WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
  • GDPR and CCPA compliance
  • Awareness of emerging AI ethics and governance frameworks (EU AI Act, etc.)
